Extra objects

(Settings menu/Object catalogs/Extra Objects)

Extra objects are output to extra-dial.
The right part of the window contains categories of extra objects. By selecting any of them, the "Available" column will show objects included in the selected category. Next to the column name, the number of these objects is indicated in parentheses.

The "Selected" column shows the objects of the current set. From the context menu, you can:

• Change the name (only for stars, asteroids, lots, lunations, eclipses and fixed objects). You can also change the name by double-clicking on the selected line;
• Delete selected objects from the set;
• Change the color of the selected objects;

Sets are shown in the leftmost column. As in other dialog windows of the program, these sets can be created, deleted, cloned and renamed using the context menu.

The "Delete" and "Color" buttons duplicate the context menu items.

You can add objects from the "Available" column to the set by clicking in the form of an "arrow" or by simply dragging.

Available object categories:

• Main objects – fully correspond to the main objects of the program.
• Half–sums - half-sums of all possible pairs of main objects.
• Stars – when selecting this category, only those stars that are included in the current set of stars will be shown. If you need another set (file), then you can select it from the bottom element of the window. There are additional options next to this category. One of them determines how the stars will be calculated in Directions. If the box is checked, then the stars will retain their natal position.
  The next option regulates the display of stars on the chart - to show all the selected stars, or only those that are in the conjunction with other chart objects participating in the aspect (check the box). Here you can also set the conjunction orb. At the same time, all the stars from the current set of extra objects will participate in the "List of Aspects" scene table and in the main table of aspects.
  It is possible to search for stars by name.
• Lots – similar to stars, lots from the current set will be shown, which can be changed in the lower element of this window. With the adjacent option, you can show only those lots that are in conjunction with chart objects. The orb for the conjunction is taken from the current aspect page.
• Asteroids – the number of asteroids that can be used in the program depends on the files ephemerides of these asteroids, which should be present in the program folder "ephemerides". The installation package includes the following files only for the first thousand asteroids (with numbers from 0 to 999). To use the rest of the asteroids in the program, you must upload ephemeris for them. This can be done from the site astro.com . Ephemeris files there are represented by folders ast0,ast1, ast2, etc. Each folder contains 1000 asteroids, starting with an asteroid with a number equal to the number following the abbreviation. If you download the entire folder, then you need to put it with the same name to the program folder "ephemerides". Or you can download files only for specific asteroids. In this case, they should be placed you also need to go to the "ephemerides" folder. For example, to calculate an asteroid with the number 3721, you need the file se03721s.se1.
  The path to the ephemeris folder can be change.

  It is possible to quickly search for an asteroid by a fragment of its name or number.
  From the context menu, the list of asteroids can be sorted by number or name.

• Previous lunation is a choice of 4 objects: new moon, full moon, full moon sun, and syzygy, which is adjusted in the corresponding window. The lunation event itself precedes the event of the current dial.
• Next lunation is similar to the previous one, only the closest one after the event of the current dial.
• Previous eclipse – various types of eclipses preceding the event of the current dial.
• Next eclipse is similar to the previous one, only the closest one after the event of the current dial.
• Mutation – here is the preceding or subsequent Great Conjunction (the conjunction of Saturn and Jupiter).
• Antiscia – antiscia of ten main objects.
• Contrantiscia – contrantiscia of ten main objects.
• The lots of the natal arc are only for prognostic charts, since the data of the natal dial is used. You can read more about these lots from Lilly or Frawley, for example.
• Zodiac divisions – you can choose to use novenaries, dodecatemories by Mark Manilius and other zodiac divisions.
• Fixed position – in the lower windows, you can set the name and coordinate for the fixed position.

In the right panel, a widget can be used to quickly select the current set of extra objects, as well as to open this window.

Files of sets of extra objects are located in the program folder "sets/ExtraObjectSets".
